In 2018, Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi (PPTNM) began quietly raising money and planning for the renovation of our 3,800 square foot health center located at 710 North Cherry Street, Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2020, we launched our Knoxville Now campaign to raise our final $250,000 towards an exciting expansion in East Tennessee.

Our goals were simple: 

• Change lives through expanded and enhanced patient services;

• Create sexual health and well-being by providing honest and accurate information through education and outreach; and

• Ensure access to reproductive health services. 

We could never have envisioned what happened next: a global pandemic resulting in delayed materials and inflation of construction costs; a deliberate and devastating arson that destroyed our health center when it was only 6 weeks away from completion; and the fall of Roe v. Wade, stripping millions of people of their right to abortion.

But through the devastation, Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi continues to RISE. We are RELENTLESS in our commitment to East Tennessee, which is why we are on track to open our rebuilt Knoxville health center in Summer 2024. We are READY to continue serving patients of all income levels, races, genders, and sexualities with the same affordable, high quality, nonjudgmental, compassionate healthcare, education, and advocacy Planned Parenthood has provided East Tennesseeans since 1961.
